The first excavations in Naukratis, a Greek colony in Egypt, were started by F. Petrie and yielded very important finds. His student E.A. Gardner continued the excavations after F. Petrie`s death. In this book, first published in 1888, E.A. Gardner analyzes the artifacts found at Naukratis.
